Watching a Friend Take Flight

Last weekend, I had the distinct pleasure of watching a friend walk in her purpose and her power. It was not just amazing but inspiring to watch. I’ve known Cynitra Skillern née Montgomery since we were in junior high school, and she has never been anything less than a good friend to me. Reconnecting with her since moving back to Cleveland has been a complete blast.

Anywhoodle, she has a podcast called EPIC Experiences and decided that she’d do it live. Brave, huh? The subject was Band-Aids and the wounds they cover. While she told us hers, and wrapped the message in scripture, it gave me the space to think about mine. But that’s another post for another day.

Now let’s get back to the theme of this thing!

As I sat there in the audience of her friends and family, what we were seeing was undeniable. A woman coming into her own and I must admit, it was incredible to see. Honestly, I want that for me too. Maybe not in front of everyone, but it was a laudable moment. Imagine getting an assignment, tackling it head on, and making it look easy? We should all be so lucky. That blessed?

The experience, like most, left me with more questions than answers. But it also inspired me to stop letting fear of what might happen get in the way of the wonder that could. And for that I say - thank you, Punkin.
